Harvest Table Gratitude

Intention: Give thanks for what you have gathered, together or alone

Ingredients / Materials

  • A loaf of bread or a handful of grain
  • 1 apple, sliced
  • A little honey
  • A candle
  • Something to drink

Correspondences

Method

  1. Set the table with the bread, apple, and honey at the center. Light the candle.
  2. Go around the table (or think it through if you are alone) and name one thing this season has given you.
  3. Break the bread and share it. Drizzle a little honey on the apple slices.
  4. Set aside a small portion outdoors for the land, birds, or insects.

Variations

Use whatever your local harvest looks like: berries, squash, tomatoes, corn. The point is thankfulness, not a formal menu.

Honey is not safe for infants under one year.

Fire safety: burn only in a heat-proof dish, never leave flames unattended, and keep away from curtains, paper, and pets.
