Who is Freyja?
The foremost goddess of the Vanir in Norse sources such as the Poetic Edda and Prose Edda. She is known for love, beauty and desire, and also for seiðr, a form of Norse magic. She rides a chariot pulled by cats and owns the necklace Brísingamen.
Death and war
Sources say she receives half of those who die in battle at her hall, Fólkvangr, while Odin receives the other half.
