Dark Moon Crossroads Offering
Intention: Ask Hecate for guidance at a decision point
Ingredients / Materials
- A candle
- A key
- A small offering (garlic, honey, or an egg) for a household altar
- Paper and pen
Method
- At the dark moon, set a candle on your altar with the key in front of it.
- Write down the choice in front of you, and the two or three paths it might lead to.
- Say: "Hecate of the crossroads, show me the next step."
- Sit quietly and notice what you feel about each path.
- Leave a small offering on the altar overnight. Compost or dispose of it sensibly in the morning.
Historical note
Ancient Greeks left food at crossroads for Hecate at the new moon. At home, it's better to use an altar or a private garden so nothing is left as litter.
Fire safety: burn only in a heat-proof dish, never leave flames unattended, and keep away from curtains, paper, and pets.
