Culture: Ancient Greek Domain: Wisdom, strategic warfare, crafts, weaving
Athena sprang fully grown and armored from the head of Zeus. Patron of Athens, which she won from Poseidon by gifting the city the olive tree, she embodies wisdom applied practically: strategy rather than blood-lust in war, skilled craft and weaving, and civic order. She favored clever mortal heroes such as Odysseus and Perseus, guiding rather than fighting for them.
