Ingredients / Materials
- A walk in a wooded place
- An acorn or small stick
- A handful of bird seed or nuts
- A bag for collecting litter
Method
- Enter a wood or park slowly. Pause and greet the place aloud or silently.
- Walk until you find a spot that feels right, perhaps near an old tree.
- Sit quietly for ten minutes and just listen.
- Sprinkle a small amount of bird seed or nuts as an offering to the wildlife, in a place where it's allowed.
- Say what you are thankful for and what you want to protect.
- On the way out, pick up any litter you find as a gift to the place.
Principle
The best offering to a nature deity is care for the land. Leave nothing harmful behind.
